Ty Beasley, Fran de Bethencourt receive All-AAC honors; Men's Golf places fifth
ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. (April 23, 2024) - Milligan University men's golf recorded a fifth-place finish at the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championship, while Ty Beasley and Francisco de Bethencourt collected all-conference accolades.
ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. (April 23, 2024) - Milligan University men's golf recorded a fifth-place finish at the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championship, while Ty Beasley and Francisco de Bethencourt collected all-conference accolades.
The two-day, three-round event took place at the Barnsley Gardens Resort in Adairsville, Ga.
The Buffaloes used a solid third round to climb two spots in the standings to land fifth. Entering the final round tied for seventh, Milligan shot a 307 to finish at 951, one stroke better than sixth-place Columbia International University (S.C.).
Truett McConnell won the event with a 10-over 902.
Ty Beasley led the Buffaloes with a third-place showing to earn All-Tournament Team honors. He jumped five spots on the final day as he shot a 2-under 70 during the third round, finishing at 6-over 222. De Bethencourt was the next highest finisher as he tied for 16th at 235.
Beasley was also named to the All-AAC First Team with de Bethencourt making the second team.
