Men's Golf ties for second; De Bethencourt collects more All-Tournament Team honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 10, 2024) - Francisco De Bethencourt earned another All-Tournament Team honor as Milligan University men's golf tied for second at the Eagle Invitational.

The two-day event was held at the Griffin Gate Golf Resort in Lexington, Ky., and hosted by Midway University (Ky.).

Milligan posted a 37-over 597 to tie for second with Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) rival Tennessee Wesleyan University. Marian University (Ind.) won with a 14-over 574.

De Bethencourt paced the Buffs with a third-place showing, posting 4-over 144. He finished only two strokes behind winner Brandon Heffner of Marian.

Gustaf Lundberg followed with a 14th-place showing at 8-over 148. Ty Beasley was next in line for Milligan as he tied for 21st with a 10-over 150. Jakob Modig shot a 15-over 155 to tie for 41st.

Milligan returns to the links on April 22-23 when it plays in the AAC/Direct Qualifier Tournament at Barnsley Resort Fazio Course in Adairsville, Ga.
