Men’s Golf finishes fourth at STU Miami Invitational

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (March 21, 2023) – The Milligan University men's golf team placed fourth at the St. Thomas Miami Invitational at the Miami Lakes Golf Club in Florida on Monday and Tuesday.

The Buffs finished the three-round event with a team score of 927. The Buffs improved their score in each round with team totals of 318, 308 and 301. Host (RV) St. Thomas won the tournament title by nine strokes with a team score of 880 strokes.

Gustaf Lundberg led the Buffs with a 14th-plate finish in the 39-man field. He improved in all three rounds on his way to a 232 (80-77-75) total.

Ty Beasley and Jonathan Liggett tied for 16th at 234 strokes. Beasley's one-under 71 on Tuesday was the Buffs' top round at the event. Liggett bounced back from a difficult first round with scores of 74 and 75 in rounds two and three.

Samuel Prater (T-19, 236) and Brandon Hammond (T-21, 237) rounded out the Buffs' scoring five.

The Buffs travel to the Eagle Spring Invitational at the University Club of Kentucky in two weeks.
