Men’s Golf earns East Tennessee Collegiate team title

The Buffs had three players shoot even-par or better on the Monday to log a three-under 285 to lead the tournament by two strokes heading into Tuesday's final round. Milligan totaled 293 in the second round to take the tournament title at 578 strokes. Walters State and (RV) UT Southern followed at 584.
The tournament title marks the Buffs' second-straight home tourney win after taking the Mountain Empire Intercollegiate crown at the Elizabethton Golf Club last spring.
Gustaf Lundberg was the individual runner-up in the 67-man field. He opened the tournament with a minus-four 68 and shot even-par on Tuesday to finish at 140 strokes. UT Southern's Shane Lillis won the tourney with a total score of 139.
Samuel Prater jumped up 15 spots on day two with a one-under 71 to finish tied for sixth at 145 strokes.
Jonathan Liggett finished ninth at 146 (72-74). Ty Beasley followed in 12th at 147 (71-76).
Reece Anderson led Milligan's second group with 149 strokes (73-76), good for 22nd-place. Brandom Hammond tied for 26th at 150.
Nick Brock carded a 71 on Monday with seven birdies and finished tied for 35th (155).
The Buffs return to action at the Links at Kahite (Oct. 8-9).
