Dane Rheinecker and Ty Beasley named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars
NORMAN, Okla. (July 21, 2022) – Milligan University men’s golfers Dane Rheinecker and Ty Beasley have been named 2021-22 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Thursday.
NORMAN, Okla. (July 21, 2022) – Milligan University men's golfers Dane Rheinecker and Ty Beasley have been named 2021-22 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Thursday.
To earn Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status, a golfer must be a sophomore or above academically, compete in 50 percent of the team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78.0, maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2 and be of high moral character and in good standing at his college or university.
Rheinecker concluded his Milligan golf career with All-AAC First Team honors after leading the Buffs with a 74.67 scoring average. He notched three top-five finishes and six top-10 outings in nine tournaments. He finished fourth at the AAC Fall Championship Preview and 10th at the AAC Spring Championship. He became Milligan's first men's golfer to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors and posted a 3.92 GPA in Milligan's MBA program in 2021-22.
Beasley, a rising junior accounting major with a 3.23 GPA, earned medalist honors at the East Tennessee Collegiate with a three-under 141. He posted four rounds of even-par or better, including a minus-three 69 at the East Tennessee Collegiate. Beasley posted a tournament average of 77.57 while playing in the Buffs' startling group for all 23 rounds in 2021-22.
The Buffs finished No. 34 in the final NAIA men's Golfstat Team Rankings after finished second at the NAIA Direct Qualifier/AAC Spring Championship.
