Men’s Golf in fourth through 36 holes at AAC Spring Championship
ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. (April 25, 2022) – The Milligan University Men’s Golf team sits in fourth place of 12 teams through 36 holes at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Spring Championship at the Barnsley Gardens Resort.
ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. (April 25, 2022) – The Milligan University Men's Golf team sits in fourth place of 12 teams through 36 holes at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Spring Championship at the Barnsley Gardens Resort.
The event also serves as the NAIA Direct Qualifier for the AAC, meaning the team tournament champion will punch its ticket to the NAIA National Championships in May.
No. 15 Reinhardt used a second round 290 to lead the field at 598 strokes. Milligan posted a two-round total of 611 (304-307), one stroke back of No. 19 Tennessee Wesleyan and three strokes behind of No. 10 Point. The Buffs are a single stroke ahead of (RV) Truett McConnell before the a 14-strokes gap to sixth-place Montreat.
The Buffs have three top-10 individuals through two rounds of play in the 65-golfer field. Dane Rheinecker leads the way with a 151 (75-76). Alvaro Huidobro and Samuel Prater tied for 10th with identical rounds of 75 and 77 to total 152 strokes.
Jonathan Liggett is 17th at 156 strokes and Ty Beasley tied for 29th through two rounds at 159 strokes.
The AAC Spring Championship/NAIA Direct Qualifier wraps up with 18 holes tomorrow.
