Men’s Golf opens spring season at Skyhawk Spring Invitational
PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (March 8, 2022) – The Milligan University men’s golf team opened its spring schedule with a 10th-place showing at the Skyhawk Spring Invitational at Callaway Gardens.
PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (March 8, 2022) – The Milligan University men's golf team opened its spring schedule with a 10th-place showing at the Skyhawk Spring Invitational at Callaway Gardens.
The event featured an extremely competitive field with six ranked teams and three other squads were receiving votes in the latest national top 25 poll. No. 22 Reinhardt took the tournament title at 890 strokes. Milligan finished with 928 strokes, tied with Faulkner for 10th. The Buffs were 10 strokes back of a top-five finish.
The three-round, 87-golfer tournament was played on Callaway Garden's par-72 Mountain View course.
Dane Rheinecker shot up the individual leaderboard on day two as he posted a one-over 73 to rise 16 spots to finish tied for 28th with a three-round score of 230.
Alvaro Huidobro logged rounds of 77, 79 and 76 to finish tied for 37th with a 54-hole total of 232. Ty Beasley followed in 40th at 233 (77-78-78).
Jonathan Liggett posted a 75 and 78 in his opening two rounds but a rocky final round pushed him to 56th (238).
Samuel Prater was 66th and Brandon Hammond finished 75th.
Men's golf returns to action in two weeks at the Agnes McAmis Memorial, hosted by Tusculum at the Graysburg Hills Golf Club.
