Men’s Golf in seventh after day one at Callaway Gardens
PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (March 7, 2022) – The Milligan University men’s golf team opened its spring season at Callaway Gardens for the Skyhawk Spring Invitational on Monday. The Buffs sat in seventh in the team standings after round one and had the second round of the day suspended by rain.
PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (March 7, 2022) – The Milligan University men's golf team opened its spring season at Callaway Gardens for the Skyhawk Spring Invitational on Monday. The Buffs sat in seventh in the team standings after round one and had the second round of the day suspended by rain.
The 14-team, 54-hole tournament features six ranked teams and another three squads that received votes in the final fall edition of the NAIA national rankings. No. 3 Southeastern led the team leaderboard with 295 strokes in round one. The Buffs shot 308, 13 strokes back of the leader.
Play was suspended in the afternoon with each Milligan player 13 or 14 holes into round two.
Jonathan Liggett led the Buffs in round one with a 75. Alvaro Huidobro turned in a 77 while and Ty Beasley and Dane Rheinecker carded 78.
Samuel Prater shot 80 and Brandon Hammond posted an 85 in round one.
Men's golf closes out the Skyhawk Spring Invitational with one round on Tuesday.
