Men’s Golf slotted fifth in AAC Fall Championship standings after day one
ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. (October 18, 2021) – The Milligan University men’s golf team opened the AAC Fall Championship Preview with 36 holes at the Barnsley Gardens Resort in Georgia on Monday.
ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. (October 18, 2021) – The Milligan University men's golf team opened the AAC Fall Championship Preview with 36 holes at the Barnsley Gardens Resort in Georgia on Monday.
The Buffs posted a strong first round with a 311 team score, good or third among AAC schools at the event. Milligan shot 318 in the second round to finish with 629 strokes over day one, good for ninth overall and fifth in the AAC standings.
No. 23 Dalton State (587) and No. 2 South Carolina Beaufort (592) lead the overall standings. No. 12 Point leads all AAC schools with 606 strokes through 36 holes. Reinhardt stands second in the AAC standings at 612 strokes, followed by No. 15 Tennessee Wesleyan (622) and No. 18 Truett McConnell (623).
Dane Rheinecker recorded a two-round total of plus-seven 151 with rounds of 75 and 76. He leads the Buffs and is tied for 15th in the 92-golfer field.
Alvaro Huidobro shot 77 in both rounds to register a day one score of 154, good for 23rd-place.
Samuel Prater finished the day in 35th at 158 strokes (77-81).
Playing as an individual, Carter Counts carded a 166 (78-88) to finish 61st after day one.
Jonathan Liggett stands in 68th at 168 strokes and Ty Beasley is 77th at 172 strokes.
