Men’s Golf competes in first day of Bojangles Intercollegiate

VONORE, Tenn. (October 9, 2021) – The Milligan University men's golf team completed 36 holes of golf in day one of the Bojangles Intercollegiate at the Links at Kahite on Saturday.
The Buffs found themselves tied for fourth place with No. 9 Tennessee Wesleyan, No. 12 Point and No. 25 Midway with a plus-seven 295 team score after round one. However, a round two 309 had Milligan slotted seventh with a day one total of 604. Reinhardt leads the field through 36 holes at three-over 579 with Point a stoke behind and No. 23 Dalton State two strokes back.
Dane Rheinecker and Jonathan Liggett led the Buffs after two rounds of action as both carded plus-four 148s. Rheinecker posted a 74 in both rounds while Liggett shot even-par (72) in the first round and 76 in the second.
Samuel Prater shot the Buffs' lowest round of the day with a minus-one 71 in the first round. He finished the day in 34th place after shooting 81 over the final 18 holes.
Ty Beasley shot 156 (78-78) to land 40th and Alvaro Huidobro is 46th at 164 strokes.
The Bojangles Intercollegiate wraps up with the final round tomorrow.
