Beasley leads the way as Men’s Golf in second through round one of East Tennessee Intercollegiate

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (September 27, 2021) – The Milligan University men's golf team opened the East Tennessee Intercollegiate with a second-place showing through 18 holes on Monday.

The Buffs posted a team total of 296 strokes, just three back of first-place Cumberlands.

Sophomore Ty Beasley leads the 59-player field with a three-under 69. After bogeying the second hole, Beasley posted four birdies and 12 pars to close out the day's best round.

Alvaro Huidobro finished the first day in fifth with a plus-one 73 in a round that featured six birdies and an eagle.

Carter Counts was part of a six-way tie for ninth at three-over 75. Samuel Prater posted a 79 on day one and is tied for 28th.

Milligan "B" posted a team score of 312 to finish day one in sixth out of 11 teams.

Reece Anderson matched Huidobro and led Milligan "B" with a 73. Nick Brock tied for 15th at 76.

The East Tennessee Collegiate wraps up tomorrow.
