Men’s golf lands third at East Tennessee Collegiate
Dane Rheinecker, Caleb Milligan and David Lang made big improvements from day one to day two to lead the Milligan College men’s golf team to a third-place finish at the East Tennessee Collegiate Tuesday at Johnson City Country Club.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 1, 2019) – Dane Rheinecker, Caleb Milligan and David Lang made big improvements from day one to day two to lead the Milligan College men's golf team to a third-place finish at the East Tennessee Collegiate Tuesday at Johnson City Country Club.
The Buffs, who were third after day one, shot the second lowest score of day two. Rheinecker (74-71) improved by three strokes while C. Milligan (78-70) and Lang (78-70) improved by eight strokes to all claim a spot in the top 11. Also scoring for Milligan was Jonathan Liggett (73-80) and Reece Walker (81-78).
Milligan (303-289) made a 14-stroke improvement from day one to day two and finished 11 strokes back from second and 15 strokes back from Faulkner University's winning lead. The field featured nine teams, including five Appalachian Athletic Conference schools the Buffaloes topped.
Up next, Milligan heads to the Bojangles Fall Classic Championship, hosted by Tennessee Wesleyan University, Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 12-13. The event is set to take place at Links at Kahite in Vonore, Tennessee. After that, the Buffs will conclude the fall with the AAC Fall Championship Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 21-22, in Adairsville, Georgia.
