Buffaloes Men's Bowling Finishes 14th at Tier 1 Hoosier Classic
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - On Saturday and Sunday, the Milligan University men's bowling squad competed at the Tier 1 Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis. Milligan finished in the top fourth of the field in the event, notching a 14th-place showing out of 78 teams in attendance.
A total of five team games on day one and 15 Baker games on day two made up the tournament format, as the Buffaloes managed 5,195 pins in team games and a 2,867 total in te Bakers to reach an overall mark of 8,062 for the weekend.
Milligan's Joshua Collins sat atop the Buffaloes' roster in seventh as an individual for the tourney. He totaled 1,164 team game pins, averaging 232.8 per game. His best game of the weekend was his fourth game, in which he bowled a 246.
Milligan had two other bowlers make it into the top 100 of the event, in which there were 530 bowlers who competed in at least one game. Nate Trentler was the next finisher, placing 85th with 1,018 pins. He averaged 203.6. Alex Evans came in 88th, scoring a 1,016-pin total and posting a 203.2 average.
The team now will battle at the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Championships on Feb. 21-22 in Savannah, Ga. after their strong performance at the Hoosier Classic.
