Buffs Men's Bowling Battles at National Collegiate Team Match Games
FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. – On Saturday and Sunday, the Milligan University men's bowling team competed in another Tier 1 event, the National Collegiate Team Match Games in Fairview Heights, Ill. Overall, the squad ended up finishing 11th of 26 teams.
Over the course of two days, five team games and twenty baker games made up the tournament format. Milligan had a 4.997 pin total in team games, alongside a total of 4,044 in their baker games to reach an overall mark of 9,041.
Xander Stephens had a strong showing as an individual for Milligan JV1, averaging 213 pins across five team games and posting a tournament best of 258 pins in his second team game.
Milligan varsity's top finisher was Ethan Collier, who posted a 208 average and finished in 36th as an individual. He had a single-game best of 258 pins in the third team game.
Just behind Collier was Alex Evans, who finished 36th. He also averaged 208 pins per game, including a 245 in team game number four, as his top performance.
Milligan will now have just under a month to prepare for their next competition in Las Vegas, Nev. at the Glenn Carlson on Dec. 18-19 and the Collegiate Shootout on Dec. 20-21.
