CINCINNATI, Ohio (October 23, 2022) – The Milligan University men's bowling team finished 13th at the Mid-South Conference Cincinnati Classic on Saturday and Sunday.
The Buffs finished 13th of 17 teams in the varsity standings with 8,274 pins cleared over nine team games.
"We've got to get better at our consistency," said head coach Brian Rickert. "We just couldn't get 5 guys scoring at the same time this weekend and our lack of depth hurt us. With only 6 on our varsity roster, we just can't afford to have multiple guys off their game."
Cameron Shockey led the charge for the Buffs with a nine-game individual average of 203.8. He totaled 1,834 pins for the event with five games over 200 and a high of 239 in his final game.
"Cameron Shockey was locked in and just ran into some bad carry on day two or he would have had a great chance at all-tournament team honors," said Rickert. "I will say that we never lost our energy and fought until the end but we'll be working extremely hard in practice this upcoming week improving some of our weaknesses. I'm confident we'll come out ready next weekend."
Tristan Crawford was 40th and Jackson McRae ranked 41st in the individual standings. Crawford recorded an average of 187.7 and McRae followed at 186.8.
Milligan placed sixth of nine teams in the JV event. Aiden Bailey paced Milligan's JV squad with an individual average of 192 pins. Bailey notched three games over 200 pins with a high of 229 to finish 32nd overall.
Milligan bowling heads south for the SCAD-Savannah Collegiate Shootout next weekend.
