HARROGATE, Tenn. (December 5, 2021) – The Milligan University men's bowling team finished seventh out of eight teams at the Lincoln Memorial Challenge over the weekend.
Milligan knocked down 6,647 pins over five games of individual play on Saturday and 16 baker games on Sunday.
"This weekend was a tough oil pattern and unfortunately we just weren't able to put any big scores together," said head coach Brian Rickert. "A bright spot was the finish of Christian Brown taking the 10th spot as an individual along with Tristan Crawford taking 13th. I was proud of all the guys for never giving in and fighting until the end although we are going to have to work even harder over the winter break. We have a very tough schedule when we come back with 3 tournaments in 3 weekends and I fully believe these guys have the potential to do very well."
Brown rolled a 211 in his opening game and closed individual play with a 223. Over the five games, Brown cleared 950 pins for an average of 190.0 per game. Crawford cleared 897 pins in individual play (179.4 average) with a high of 198.
Aside from the strong individual finishes from Brown and Crawford, Milligan posted a high baker game of 223 on Sunday.
Milligan bowling returns to action in the spring semester with the Mid-South Conference's Brandon Burns Memorial on Jan. 8-9.
