Carlson, Thomae receive Academic All-District honors

MILLIGAN, Tenn. (March 26, 2024) - Milligan University men's basketball players Flynn Carlson and Lincoln Thomae were named Academic All-District selections by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
To qualify for nomination, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or start in at least 66 percent of the games.
Carlson started in 24 of the 27 games he played in for the Buffaloes this season, averaging 5.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He also had 42 assists, 21 steals, and 23 blocks. Carlson scored a season-high 14 points in a 96-71 win over Truett McConnell on Jan. 31.
Appearing in 27 games and starting 24, Thomae averaged 9.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. He dished out 87 assists, made 32 steals, and blocked four shots. Thomae poured in a season-high 18 points in an 89-84 win against Johnson.
Both Carlson and Thomae made the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) All-Academic Team.
Milligan finished 14-13 overall and earned the No. 4 seed in the AAC Tournament with a 14-10 conference record.
