Men’s Basketball dispatches Reinhardt 86-57

Milligan rises to 8-9 on the season and 8-7 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play. The Buffs split the season series with Reinhardt, who falls to 9-10, 8-8 AAC.
Milligan scored the first seven points of the contest and a layup by McClure pushed the Buffs' lead to double-digits at 12-2 in less than five minutes of play.
Reinhardt worked back within a six-point margin (18-12) around the midway point of the first half. McCaskill Rivers answered with a three-point play and Jay Hickman drained the three to push the Milligan lead back up to a dozen (24-12). The Buffs outscored Reinhardt 34-22 in the first half. Milligan held Reinhardt's starters to a combined nine points as the Eagles shot 25.9 percent from the field in the opening half.
The Buffs led by double digits the entire second half and were ahead by as many as 31 points (68-31). Sam Gold had a thunderous transition slam dunk and Hickman drained a three the following possession as Milligan earned the wire-to-wire victory.
Hickman paced the Buffs with 22 points. Finn McClure and Rivers had 19 points apiece. Lincoln Thomas had seven points, 13 rebounds and five assists. Gold recorded seven points, 10 rebounds and four assists.
The Buffs turned 25 Reinhardt turnovers into 30 points and had a 17-6 edge in fast break points.
Milligan travels to Bryan on Saturday.
