Men’s Basketball drops high-scoring exhibition at TNU

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 30, 2023) – The Milligan University men's basketball team dropped a competitive exhibition matchup at NCAA Division II Trevecca Nazarene 92-86 on Saturday afternoon.

The game featured 12 ties and 12 lead changes and was tied at 50 through 20 minutes of action. The Buffs led 54-51 early in the second half but a 12-0 TNU run gave the hosts a lead they would never relinquish the rest of the contest.

Milligan worked back within one possession (78-75) with under five minutes to play but the Trojans scored the next five points on their way to building a double-digit lead (87-78) with three minutes left. The Buffs came within six in the final minute as TNU held on for the 92-86 win.

Follie Bogan paced Milligan with 19 points, four rebounds and three assists. He converted all 10 of his foul shots on the day. Sam Gold had 13 points and four rebounds.

Lincoln Thomae recorded 12 points and four assists. Finn McClure had 11 points, five rebounds and seven assists. Jay Hickman added 11 points.

The Buffs shot 50 percent from the field made 11 threes at 52.4 percent. Milligan had 24 assists on 30 made baskets.

Milligan returns to league play on Jan. 6 at Tennessee Wesleyan.
