Men’s Basketball falls in high-scoring game at Reinhardt

The Buffs fall to 4-5 on the season and 4-3 in league player. Reinhardt moves to 4-5, 3-4 AAC.
Both teams got off quick starts as the game was tied at 11 in less than three minutes of actions. Milligan embarked on a 25-5 run to lead 36-16 with 8:34 left in the first half. The Buffs shot 59.3 percent from the field and made 24 free throws in the first half as Milligan led 57-46 at the break.
Reinhardt battled back to take a 68-67 lead six minutes into the second half. The lead changed hands several times as Milligan responded to tie the game at 90 with 3:28 left and take a 92-90 lead with just under three minutes left on a Follie Bogan layup.
The Eagles scored on their next four possessions with a three-point play, four free throws and a three-pointer to lead 100-96 in the final minute. The Buffs narrowed the margin to one possession in the final seconds (104-101) but the Eagles escaped with the four-point win.
Bogan led the Buffs with 33 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals. McCaskill Rivers added 17 points and nine rebounds off the Milligan bench.
Sam Gold added 15 points, Jaz Johnson had 13 points, four rebounds and three assists and Lincoln Thomae recorded 10 points, seven assists and three steals.
Both teams shot better than 50 percent from the field and made over 30 free throws. Reinhardt made 14 threes at 53.8 percent while Milligan made three treys at 16.7 percent.
The Buffs won the rebounding (31-28) and turnover (18-16) battles.
Milligan hosts CIU on Wednesday evening.
