Men’s Basketball scores 107 in home finale victory over St. Andrews
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (February 13, 2022) – The Milligan University men’s basketball team set season highs in points and field goal percentage as the Buffs downed St. Andrews 107-79 in Milligan’s regular season home finale at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse on Sunday.

Milligan stands at 6-19 overall and 5-17 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play. The Knights fall to 3-23, 3-19 AAC.
Despite being short-handed with several players out with injury, Milligan raced out to 12-0 lead over the first 3:23 of the contest. All six of the Buffs' baskets to open the game came in the paint as Milligan attacked the basket early. Levontae Knox and Flynn Carlson both had two layups during the opening salvo.
Sami Sanad scored seven straight points for Milligan as he converted a pair of layups and drained a three off an assist from Alex Chambers to put the Buffs ahead 27-11 with 11 minutes to play in the first half. A three by Adam Graham was followed by a three-point play by Julian Wilson to extend the Buffs' advantage to 33-14 just past the midway point of the first half.
Knox went on a 5-0 run himself with a lay-in and three point play to extend the Milligan lead to 20 points (40-20) with six minutes to play in the first half.
St. Andrews worked back to down 15 with under four minutes to play in the half, but Milligan scored the final 11 points of the half to lead 57-31 at halftime.
Milligan made 25-of-36 shots (69.4 percent) in the first half as 44 of the Buffs' 57 were scored in the paint. Sanad had 19 points and seven rebounds and Knox recorded 15 points, six rebounds and four assists in the first half alone.
Finn McClure drained a right corner three with 16:45 in the second half kept the Buffs ahead 66-40. A steal by Graham led to a jam in transition by Sanad as Milligan led 72-47 with 14 minutes remaining.
Milligan led by 27 (83-56) through 10 minutes of action in the second half. The Buffs' edge grew to 30 (89-59) after two made free throws by Carlson with eight minutes to go in regulation. A layup by Alex Inman broke the century mark for the Buffs at 101-75 with three minutes left.
The Buffs shot 60.3 percent (44-of-73) for the game and racked up 72 points in the paint.
Sanad and Knox both registered career highs of 25 points. Sanad shot 11-of-15 from the field and grabbed eight rebounds. Knox was 11-of-12 from the floor and had eight rebounds and eight assists. Carlson joined in with a career high 17 points.
Graham chipped in with eight points and McClure had five points, seven rebounds and a season high eight assists.
Milligan travels to Point on Wednesday night.
