Tripp first team, three other Buffs recognized
Milligan University senior David Tripp has been recognized on the Appalachian Athletic Conference All-Conference first team, sophomore Levontae Knox has been recognized on the all-defense team, and freshmen Finn McClure and Jeffrey Selden have been recognized on the all-freshman team. MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Feb. 24, 2021) – Milligan University senior David Tripp has been recognized on the Appalachian Athletic Conference All-Conference first team, sophomore Levontae Knox has been recognized on the all-defense team, and freshmen Finn McClure and Jeffrey Selden have been recognized on the all-freshman team. The AAC office made the postseason men's basketball awards announcement Wednesday night.
Tripp led the Buffs with 20.9 points per game, ranking No. 4 in the AAC. He also averaged 5.6 rebounds per game. In fact, Tripp put up big numbers in nearly every contest of the season. He scored 25 or more in six games and 17 or more in 15 of his 17 games played.
Knox made his mark on the defensive end, although he also averaged 6.5 points and 3.3 rebounds. McClure and Selden averaged 6.8 and 5.7 points, respectively, with McClure tallying a team high 74 assists (4.4/game) and Selden tallying 2.9 rebounds per game.
Milligan takes on fourth-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan Thursday at 12 p.m. at MeadowView Conference Resort and Convention Center in the quarterfinals of the AAC tournament. No fans are allowed to attend, but the game can be followed online through aacsports.com.
