Buffs crush St. Andrews on senior day
The Milligan College men’s basketball senior class combined to score 72 points in an 81-52 rout of St. Andrews University Saturday inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. Milligan used a 10-0 run midway through the first half as part of steadily building a lead that was 17 at the break and 20 within the first three minutes of the second half.

(Feb. 22, 2020) – The Milligan College men's basketball senior class combined to score 72 points in an 81-52 rout of St. Andrews University Saturday inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. Milligan used a 10-0 run midway through the first half as part of steadily building a lead that was 17 at the break and 20 within the first three minutes of the second half.
After celebrating senior day prior to the game, every senior made their way into the scoring column: Jacob Cawood (14), Bo Pless (14), Desean Green (13), Mike Featherston (12), Tyler Nichols (11), Nathan Hastings (six) and Teve Mushayamunda (two). Green added 12 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season, sixth of his career, along with seven assists to only one turnover.
Milligan led 41-24 at the half and only saw its lead dip to 15 twice in the second half. After St. Andrews made it a 15-point game for the second time, Milligan answered with the next seven points, and then soon after had a 30-point lead after a Sasha Kaiukov basket in the final minute.
Up next, Milligan heads to the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament as the three seed and will first face Kentucky Christian in the quarterfinals Thursday at 5:15 p.m. A win would put the Buffs into the semis scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m. Milligan and KCU split the season series with both teams winning by 19 or more points on their home court.
