Cawood receives first AAC weekly honor
For the first time in his career, Milligan College senior Jacob Cawood has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Cawood's efforts were for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 12, which included two AAC wins.
MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Jan. 13, 2020) – For the first time in his career, Milligan College senior Jacob Cawood has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Cawood's efforts were for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 12, which included two AAC wins.
Cawood scored a career high of 29 points in Milligan's first game of the week against Allen. Later on in the week he went on to score 21 points against Truett McConnell to help the Buffs continue their undefeated streak in 2020.
Against Allen, Cawood also recorded six rebounds and two assists and was 9-for-11 in field goal attempts and 5-for-6 from the three-point arch. He also was perfect from the free throw line, going 6-for-6. Against Truett, Cawood recorded five rebounds, two assists and two blocks. He was perfect from behind the three point line, went 8-for-9 in field goals and was 4-for-5 in free throws.
Cawood and the men's basketball team will be back in action tonight, Monday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. for a nonconference matchup against Johnson University.
