Milligan falls in exhibition game against Mercer
The Milligan College men’s basketball team competed in their last game of the 2019 portion of their season with an exhibition matchup against Mercer University and fell to the Bears 104-53.
MACON, Ga. (Dec. 28, 2019) – The Milligan College men's basketball team competed in their last game of the 2019 portion of their season with an exhibition matchup against Mercer University and fell to the Bears 104-53.
Senior Nathan Hastings off the bench had a game high of 21 points, going 8-for-12 in field goals and 3-for-4 in triples. Tyler Nichols was the only other Buff to reach double digit scoring with 16 points and Desean Green was next in the scoring column with nine. Green also led the team in rebounds with six.
Milligan and Mercer were tied at 13 with less than eight minutes to go in the first half, but back to back three pointers by Mercer with less than five minutes to go put the Bears in the lead by double digits where they would stay the remainder of the game. The Bears limited the Buffs scoring to only 16 points in the second half.
The Buffaloes next game will be Thursday, Jan. 2, at St. Andrews University at 2 p.m. Milligan's next home game will be Saturday, Jan. 4, against Reinhardt University. Game time is set for 4 p.m. inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
