Men’s basketball falls at Point despite storming back
The Milligan College men’s basketball team rallied back from a 10-point deficit with less than five minutes to go but in the end fell to Point University 80-75 Saturday on the road. Tyler Nichols made a pair of free throws to cut the game to one with less than 40 seconds left, but Point answered back with free throws of its own to help seal the game.

(Dec. 14, 2019) – The Milligan College men's basketball team rallied back from a 10-point deficit with less than five minutes to go but in the end fell to Point University 80-75 Saturday on the road. Tyler Nichols made a pair of free throws to cut the game to one with less than 40 seconds left, but Point answered back with free throws of its own to help seal the game.
Milligan's comeback also saw the Buffs overcome a 14-point deficit with less than 10 minutes to go.
Statistical leaders
Desean Green led the way for Milligan with 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists. He was one of three Buffs in double figures as Nichols and Bo Pless each scored 14. Pless scored his on 4-of-10 shooting from behind the 3-point arc. Jacob Cawood followed with nine points, Micah Paulk scored eight, and Mike Featherston scored eight alongside 12 rebounds.
Lorenzo Freeman of Point led all scorers with 23 points on 6-of-19 shooting.
