Cycling finishes sixth at MTB nationals

RIDE ROCK CREEK, N.C. (October 16, 2023) – The Milligan University cycling team finished sixth at the 2023 USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships in North Carolina over the weekend.

The Buffs achieved one podium finish and four top-10 showings at MTB nationals. Elijah Johnson, Trevor August, Chatham Ash and Samantha Clark closed out the championships with a fifth-place finish in the team relay.

Johnson placed eighth in the men's cross country short track race and finished seventh in the men's individual omnium standings. Malaki Caldwell used three top-30 showings to place eighth in the men's omnium.

Genevieve Plum finished 12th in the women's individual omnium standings with a pair of top-30 finishes.

Next for Milligan cycling on the national championships calendar is the 2023 USA Cyclocross National Championships in December.
