Megan Jastrab repeats as Road Race national champion
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (May 6, 2023) – Megan Jastrab successfully defended her Women’s Road Race national championship at the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships on Saturday.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (May 6, 2023) – Megan Jastrab successfully defended her Women's Road Race national championship at the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships on Saturday.
Jastrab navigated the 105-kilometer course in 2:49:25 to win the national title by 44 seconds. With the victory, Jastrab collects her eighth collegiate national title, Milligan's all-time for any sport.
Marjie Bemis finished 21st in 2:56.14 and Madeline Bemis was 29th in 2:59:01.
Trevor August led the Buffs with a seventh-place finish in the Men's Road Race, finishing in 2:22:00. Artem Shmidt placed 22nd and Ethan Craine was 29th in the 75-man race.
Milligan sits fourth in the overall Team Omnium standings with 256 points. Colorado Mesa leads the standings with 284 points.
Road nationals conclude tomorrow with the men's and women's criterium. The Buffs swept both criteriums last spring with Jastrab and Ama Nsek taking home national titles.
