Cycling headed to Albuquerque for Collegiate Road Nationals

MILLIGAN, Tenn. (May 4, 2023) – The Milligan University cycling program is sending 11 men and nine women to Albuquerque, N.M. to compete at the 2023 USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships this weekend.

The Buffs look to compete for their first-ever team national championship at the varsity level in 2023. The Buffs previously claimed USA Cycling Division II national titles in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Last spring, the Buffs claimed five individual or event national titles on their way to a third-place team finish.

In 2022-23, Milligan cycling has finished third at Collegiate Track Nationals, eighth at Collegiate Mountain Bike Nationals and fourth at Cyclocross Nationals.

Last year, Madeline Bemis, Marjie Bemis, Megan Jastrab and Madelline Mendoza captured the national championship in the women's team time trial. Jastrab went on to claim national titles in the women's road race, criterium and omnium. Ama Nsek became Milligan's first-ever men's cycling national champion as he won the criterium. The Buffs finished third in the team standings at last year's championship event.
