Marjie Bemis takes seventh in short trail cross country race at MTB College Nationals
DURANGO, Colo. (October 16, 2021) – Marjie Bemis added another top-10 finish in the women’s short trail cross country (STXC) race on day three of the Mountain Bike Collegiate Nationals at the Purgatory Ski Resort on Saturday.
DURANGO, Colo. (October 16, 2021) – Marjie Bemis added another top-10 finish in the women's short trail cross country (STXC) race on day three of the Mountain Bike Collegiate Nationals at the Purgatory Ski Resort on Saturday.
Bemis took seventh place in the women's STXC by completing five laps in 32:37, 3:17 back of national champion Madigen Munro of Colorado Mesa. Genevieve Plum finished 31st and Meade Plum took 49th.
In the men's STXC race, Brody McDonald led the Buffs with a 15th-palce showing. Kyle Tiesler took 23rd, William Seitz was 35th, Aiden Papell placed 37th, Elijah Johnson finished 43rd and Ama Nsek was 51st.
Matthew Spong was one of 32 riders to qualify for the dual slalom finals on Saturday evening.
Sunday concludes Mountain Bike Nationals with downhill finals in the morning and the team relay championship at 2:00 p.m. The individual and team omnium standings will be finalized and awarded following the team relay.
