Megan Jastrab and Brody McDonald earn bronze medals in day two of Track Nationals
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 10, 2021) – Milligan University’s Megan Jastrab and Brody McDonald highlighted the second day of USA Cycling’s Collegiate Track Nationals with bronze medals on Friday.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 10, 2021) – Milligan University's Megan Jastrab and Brody McDonald highlighted the second day of USA Cycling's Collegiate Track Nationals with bronze medals on Friday. In total, the Buffs tallied five individual top-10s during Friday's national championship competition.
McDonald, competing in his first-ever collegiate championship, took third in 36-lap (12 kilometer) Men's Scratch Race.
Jastrab took third in the Women's Individual Pursuit. She was only bested in head-to-head competition by the eventual national champion, SCAD Atlanta's Olivia Ray.
Jastrab also reached the podium in the Women's 500m Time Trial (1.5 laps). She clocked in at 38.934 to finish fifth overall.
Gabriella Cedillos-Dixon grabbed an individual top-10 showing with a sixth-place finish in the Women's Scratch Race while Jastrab finished 13th.
McDonald added top-10 finish in the Men's Pursuit Final with a ninth-place showing. He completed 12 laps (four kilometers) in 4:56.164. Teammate Isaac Bryant was not far behind at 12th, finishing in 5:00.617.
The Men's Time Trial, Women's Individual Pursuit and Co-Ed Team Sprint national championships will be handed out tomorrow in the final day of Track Nationals.
