Milligan's Megan Jastrab to compete in inaugural Olympic Women’s Madison
TOKYO, Japan (August 5, 2021) – With an Olympic bronze already in tow from Tuesday morning's Women's Team Pursuit finals, Milligan University student-athlete Megan Jastrab will compete for the United States in the first-ever Olympic running of the Women's Madison overnight.

Jastrab will pair with Jennifer Valente early Friday monring for the inaugural Olympic Women's Madison at the Izu Velodrome.
In August 2019, Jastrab teamed with Zoe Ta-Perez to capture the the UCI Junior Track World Championship in the Madison in Frankfurt, Germany.
At the international level, the duo of Jastrab and Valente finished third in the Madison at the final leg of the 2019-20 UCI Track Cycling World Cup in January 2020 in Milton, Canada. A month later, they placed ninth at the 2020 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Berlin.
Jastrab has already made history at the 32nd Olympiad as the first current Milligan student-athlete to compete in the Olympics, compete for Team USA and earn a medal.
The combination of Jastrab, Valente, Emma White and Chloe Dygert captured Olympic bronze in the Women's Team Pursuit early Tuesday morning. The quartet set the United States' National Record (4:07.562) in the First Round against Great Britain and defeated Canada in the Medal Round to take home bronze.
The Women's Madison is scheduled to run at 4:15 a.m. EST at the Izu Velodrome. The United States' duo of Jastrab and Valente will square off with 14 opposing pairings for the first ever Women's Madison Olympic gold medal.
NBC will stream the event live and USA Network will re-air the Women's Madison at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6.
