JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 27, 2015) -- Several members of the Milligan College basketball, cheer, dance and tennis teams, along with Brutus the Buffalo, donated their time Tuesday evening at North Side Elementary School's ninth annual All-Star Reading Night.
Milligan's student-athletes spent time reading to and interacting with the young children as a way to encourage the value of reading and attending school.
"This is a great opportunity for our team to come out and give back to the community," Head Coach Ryan Reynolds, who was in attendance with six of his players, said. "We've participated in this event in the past and seen the benefits it has for this elementary school."
Head Coach Rich Aubrey noted, "All-Star Reading Night is a great event. It gives us a chance to pay it forward. We've been blessed by people who read to us and invested in our education. Now it's our turn to do that for others. We enjoy this and appreciate it every bit as much as these students do."
