Baseball receives at-large bid to NAIA Opening Round
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 9, 2024) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its 2024 NAIA Tournament Opening Round field on Thursday afternoon and for the first time in program history, Milligan University baseball was selected to compete in the championship field.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 9, 2024) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its 2024 NAIA Tournament Opening Round field on Thursday afternoon and for the first time in program history, Milligan University baseball was selected to compete in the championship field.
The Buffaloes are the No. 4 seed in the Hattiesburg (Miss.) Bracket, which is being hosted by William Carey University.
Milligan will open play against No. 1 seed Mid-America Christian University (Okla.) on Monday at 6 p.m. ET. Host William Carey is the No. 2 seed and will face third-seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan on Monday at 2:30 pm ET.
The opening round is a double-elimination tournament and will run through Thursday, May 16, at the latest.

Milligan enters the NAIA Opening Round with a 33-20 overall record. The Buffs went 3-2 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament, nearly advancing to the championship game before a 9-8, extra-inning loss to Reinhardt ended their run.
