MILLIGAN, Tenn. (March 29, 2024) - Milligan University baseball kicked off its Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) series with No. 21 Tennessee Wesleyan with a 6-4 victory on Friday.

MILLIGAN, Tenn. (March 29, 2024) - Milligan University baseball kicked off its Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) series with No. 21 Tennessee Wesleyan with a 6-4 victory on Friday.
The win improves the Buffaloes to 22-10 overall and 11-5 in conference play.
Tennessee Wesleyan jumped out to the early advantage, scoring a run in the third before tacking on two more in the fifth for a 3-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, Milligan evened the score with a three-run rally. Caleb Berry capped the inning with a solo home run down the right-field line.
The Buffs' offense kept rolling in the sixth with another three-run outburst. Gavan Jones knocked in the first run in the inning, giving Milligan the lead. Jack Sutton followed with an RBI single and later scored on an error to push the margin to 6-3.
Tennessee Wesleyan picked up a run in the eighth but could not get any closer as Milligan secured the 6-4 win. Creed Werker picked up the save, getting the final four outs of the game with two strikeouts.
Sutton finished the game 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.
The teams resume the series on Saturday with a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
