LAURINBURG, N.C. (March 25, 2024) - Milligan University baseball came up on the short end of a pitchers' duel as host St. Andrews University (N.C.) scraped out a 3-1 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) win on Monday.
Despite the loss, Milligan won the series, having swept the doubleheader on Sunday.

St. Andrews struck first, scoring three runs in the second inning. The Knights took advantage of a balk, an error, and a passed ball in pushing three runs across.
Starter Ian Well allowed three runs, one earned, on four hits and two walks in 4 1/3 innings of work. Meanwhile, the Buffalo bullpen locked things down as Creed Werker, T.J. Kuhn, and Austin Maxey pitched the final 3 2/3 and gave up only two hits and one walk.
Meanwhile, St. Andrews hurler Noah Sorrells was on point as he allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk.
Caleb Berry tried to jumpstart a Buffalo comeback as he led off the ninth with a solo home run. However, the next three batters went down in order.
Ryan Molinari had Milligan's other hit, a double in the first inning.
Milligan returns to action Wednesday when it hosts WVU Tech. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
