Baseball rallies past (RV) Middle Georgia State 9-6
COCHRAN, Ga. (February 10, 2024) – Gaven Jones hit a go-ahead three-run home run in the eighth inning and the Milligan University baseball team took down (RV) Middle Georgia State 9-6 on Saturday afternoon.

Milligan rises to 6-2 on the season while MGA falls to 3-3.
The Knights used four solo home runs to lead 4-1 through four innings. Milligan scratched across a run in the sixth and Jose Paula tied the game at four with a two-run double in the seventh.
MGA scored a pair of unearned runs in the seventh to lead 6-4.
The Buffs put runners on first and third with two outs in the eight and Jones cranked his first home run of the season to put the Buffs ahead 7-6. Milligan tacked on a pair of unearned runs in the ninth to lead 9-6. Austin Maxey stranded a pair of runners in the ninth to close out the game.
Jones went 2-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored. Paula walked twice, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs. Ryan Molinari had two RBI. Andrew Mathias went 2-4 with a double and an RBI.
Anfernee Fernandez started the game and allowed four runs in four innings. Patrick Collins allowed two unearned runs in three innings and picked up the win. Joe Ducharme struck out two in 1.1 innings and Maxey picked up the save in 0.2 innings.
Milligan hosts No. 8 Cumberlands on Tuesday.
