Hullette, Gamboa, Berry and Hall named to All-AAC baseball teams

Senior catcher Logan Hullette was tabbed to the All-AAC First Team while graduate starting pitcher Jimmy Gamboa, junior outfielder Caleb Berry and senior relief pitcher Chance Hall each collected All-AAC Second Team honors. Gamboa also took home AAC Gold Glove Team laurels.
Hullette enjoyed a breakout 2023 campaign as he led the Buffs in batting and ranks ninth in the AAC with a .385 average. He moved into the leadoff spot in the line near the midway point in the season and enjoyed two hitting streaks of at least 10 games. He added 14 doubles, three homes runs and 35 runs batted in. Hullette walked 12 times and has been hit by pitch nine times, contributing to a .459 on-base percentage.
Gamboa emerged as Milligan's primary weekend starter and regular season leader in innings pitcher (58.1). He posted a 5-3 record and boasted a 3.09 earned run average, the second-lowest in the conference. Gamboa fanned 62 batters and ranked fifth in the AAC with 9.57 strikeouts per game. He collected AAC Pitcher of the Week honors after a nine-inning complete game win over Montreat when he punched out 11 Cavs while along just one run on six hits in a 3-1 Milligan victory.
Gamboa secured AAC Gold Glove Team honors as he committed no errors in 11 total chances, started a double play in the Buffs' win over Montreat and had four runners caught stealing in 12 attempts.
Berry collected all-conference recognition in his first season at Milligan after leading the Buffs in home runs, RBI and stolen bases in 2023. He smacked 10 homers ranked in the top 10 in the AAC in hits (63), doubles (14), RBI (46) and stolen bases (19). Berry batted .356 with a .429 on-base percentage and a team-high .605 slugging percentage.
Hall transitioned to a pitcher-only in his senior season and served as the Buffs' closer in 2023. He logged a 3-2 record with one save across 15 appearances this season. He allowed eight earned runs in 22.0 innings for a 3.27 ERA. He struck out 33 batters (13.50 K/9). Hall made 10 scoreless appearances during the season and picked up AAC wins over Montreat and Union. Hall was also the Buffs' AAC Champions of Character Team selection.
The Buffs placed 31 players on the AAC All-Academic Team. Hullette, Gamboa, Berry and Hall each collected academic honors in addition to their all-conference status.
