Buffs drop second-round AAC tournament matchup with No. 2 Tennessee Wesleyan
KINGSPORT, Tenn. (May 5, 2022) – The Milligan University baseball team was defeated by Tennessee Wesleyan University 16-1 in Thursday’s second-round matchup of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) tournament.

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (May 5, 2022) – The Milligan University baseball team was defeated by No. 2 Tennessee Wesleyan University 16-1 in Thursday's second-round matchup of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) tournament.
Milligan falls to 35-19 while Tennessee Wesleyan climbs to 49-5.
Tennessee Wesleyan jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead after the first three innings of play. The Bulldogs used a nine-run frame to break the game open in the third where they hit two home runs and the Buffs made three errors.
Milligan plated its first run in the top half of the fifth on two hits in the inning. A leadoff triple to right center field from Eric Rigsby put the Buffs in prime position to score a run and they did just that on a one-out base hit from Robert Salcedo.
Five different Buffs picked up a hit in the contest with Rigsby and Justin Greene recording extra base hits and Salcedo collecting the game's only RBI.
Milligan returns to action tomorrow and will face Montreat at noon.
