All offense off the bats of Milligan
Milligan scored the deciding run in the bottom of the second when Kirby Smith led the inning off with a single, then Tyler Dimon, his pinch runner, came around to score on an Augustus Fraley one-out double. While it proved to be all the scoring the Buffs needed, they piled on three more runs in the fourth, one more run in the seventh and four more runs in the eighth.
Smith sent Chance Hall home on a double to right-center field with nobody out in the fourth, then Dimon scored again on a Fraley sacrifice fly. Ben Grable followed later in that inning with an RBI single, scoring Juan Vasquez who doubled in the previous at-bat.
The Buffs played small ball in the seventh as Will Oliver led off by reaching base via hit pitch, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch, then scored on a Blake Dutton sacrifice fly.
Vasquez doubled again in the eighth as part of Milligan's four-run frame to round out the scoring. It scored Richard Polinsky before Grable tripled home two runs with a liner down the right field line and scored a few moments later on a wild pitch.
In all, the Buffs posted 13 hits. Three came off the bat of Grable who went 3-for-4 with three RBI's and one run scored. Oliver (2-for-4), Dutton (2-for-4), Smith (2-for-5) and Vasquez (2-for-3) also earned multiple hits.
