2007 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE | JODIE FREETAGE
Jodie Freetage received her Bachelor of Science degree at Milligan College in 1994, with a major in mathematics and a minor in computer science. In addition to her academic load, Jodie played tennis for Milligan for four years.
Coached her first three years by Jack Knowles, and her senior year by Rich Aubrey, Jodie was the No. 1 singles player and part of the No. 1 doubles team all four years she played. Her first three years, she was 30-2 in singles, and she was the singles conference champion in 1991 and 1992. She was also conference champion in No. 1 doubles in 1991 and 1992 with Angi Cox, and again in 1993 with Cindy Little. In 1993, she was All-District 24 in No. 1 doubles, making it to District Finals. Jodie was chosen MVP by her teammates each year she played.
Following graduation, she went to work at United Presidential Life Insurance Company in Kokomo, Indiana as a Commissions Specialist. Following that position, she worked at EDS in Kokomo and Massillon, Ohio as an Information Analyst, Project Manager and Application Hosting Consultant, until 2004, when she sought employment as a stay-at-home mom.
Jodie is married to David Freetage, class of 1993. They have two children: Owen, 3 1/2 years old, and Eric, 1 1/2 years old. She and her family attend First Christian Church in Canton, Ohio, where Jodie volunteers in the children’s ministry.
For stellar performance, on and off the court, Milligan is pleased to induct Jodie Iwanusa Freetage into the Athletics Hall of Fame.
