2019 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE | GILLIAN GIFFEN JOHNSON
Gillian Giffen Johnson graduated from Milligan in 2012 with a degree in business administration.
Gillian Giffen was a two-time All-American and is one of just three multiple-time cross countyr All-Americans in program history. She was four-time AAC champion and Runner of the Year. Gillian was named the Most Outstanding Athlete at the 2012 AAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships after capturing conference titles in the 1500m and 5k. A four-time national qualifier on the track, she took ninth in the outdoor 5k in 2012.
After graduating, she went on to earn a master's degree in exercise physiology from UT-Knoxville while coaching track and cross country with Knoxville Youth Athletics. She earned her teaching license in K-12 Physical education from Lincoln Memorial University in December 2016 and currently teaches K-5 physical education at Jacksboro Elementary School outside Knoxville.
Gillian married her husband, Damon Johnson, in June 2014. They have two children, four-year-old Harper and 11-month-old Callum. The family attends Mount Paran Baptist Church.
