2005 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE | JASON PITTSER
Jason Pittser graduated from Milligan in 1996 with a B.S. in biology. Following graduation, he entered the Ohio State University School of Optometry and graduated there with honors in 2000. In 2001, after working as an associate optometrist for one year, Jason purchased his own practice in Wilmington, Ohio. In 2003, after building a new office, he also purchased an additional practice in his hometown of Washington Court House, where he works two days a week.
While at Milligan, Jason was a standout on the basketball court. He is the college's fourth all-time leading scorer with 2,219 points. Over his four years here, he managed to average 17.0 points per game including 22.4 points per game during his junior year and 21.3 points per game during his senior year.
He was a two-time All-Conference first team pick and earned NAIA All-American honorable mention honors his junior year. Pittser was a member of three Tennessee-Virginia Athletic Conference championship teams that won 89 games in four years (22 wins per year). He was also selected three times to the All-Conference Academic team and was an NAIA Academic All-American his senior year.
Jason has said that "the impact of [his] experiences as a student-athlete at Milligan College cannot be overestimated." He considers the time he spent here "the number one influence on the person [he is] today." Certainly, the drive and commitment he exhibited on the court while a student here are evidence in the success he has met since college.
Jason now lives outside of Wilmington, Ohio, with his wife Natalie and their sons Jace (born in 2007) and Kale (born in 2010). He is still in private optometric prace in Wilmington, Ohio, and Washington Court House, Ohio, and attends Wilmington Church of Christ.
It is with pleasure that we induct Jason Pittser into the Milligan College Athletics Hall of Fame.
