Duard Paul Aldridge, a native of Lamar, Tennessee, attended Milligan College from 1953 to 1957. He was a member of the Buffs basketball and baseball teams for all four years he attended school. He graduated from Milligan in 1957.
After his graduation and a tour in the army, Duard began his teaching and coaching career at Cloudland High School and then Unaka High School, both in Carter County, Tennessee, coaching football, baseball and basketball until 1961.
Duard then moved to Johnson City, Tennessee, where he continued his coaching and teaching career at North Junior High School and later Science Hill High School. He coached football, basketball and baseball at both schools. He became an administrator at Science Hill High School and ended his career as Principal of Liberty Bell Middle School in 1986.
Duard passed away on February 13, 1996. He is survived by his wife Patricia Roberts Aldridge, a 1958 alumnus of Milligan, two children, Jeff (a 1983 graduate of Milligan) and Melanie, a daughter-in-law, Tembra Chaplain Aldridge (1981 graduate of Milligan) and three grandchildren, Nyela Aldridge Edwards (a 2006 graduate of Milligan), Megan Aldridge Harmon (a 2007 graduate of Milligan) and Natalie Aldridge.
