Major: Nursing
Sport Played: Basketball
Why did you choose Milligan?: Because I could feel that the community really cared about one another, and that it would feel like home. And because I had the opportunity to play basketball.
Favorite activity outside of sports at Milligan?: Wonderful Wednesday
Favorite memory: When I broke the school’s single game 3 point record, my teammates were so excited for me. That’s something I’ll never forget.
Favorite class/professor: Curtis Booher has been in my life since I was a little girl, and after knowing him all this time, I was a little nervous how the dynamic of his class would be. I can say that he’s just the same in class as he was when I was in 3rd grade when he came to show and tell and taught us all kinds of dance moves (i.e. the lawn mower, the shopper, and my favorite, the toilet flush). Bible isn’t as easy of a subject as people might think it is, and let’s be honest, it’s not always the most interesting. But he made it fun, and I’m thankful to have had him.
Post-grad plans: Become an RN for a few years before going back to school to get a Masters and potentially Doctorate degree.
What has being a Buff meant to you?: Milligan has given me some of the best, most caring friends. This place is full of people who love Jesus and love each other, and it’s a place that truly has the best interest for everyone involved. I have had faculty sit and talk with me when I was struggling with life. I’ve had people go out of their way to help me in times that I couldn’t figure it out on my own. I’ve witnessed and participated in prayers for students/faculty that maybe I didn’t know, and neither did half of the people around me. And I’ve felt loved by strangers. Being a Buff to me means, that you serve, love, and treat others like Jesus did, and that is such a gift. No matter where life takes me, I’ll always remember my time here at Milligan.
