The distance medley relay team of Nathan Baker, Ronan Philippot, Alex Windham and Tim Thacker earned a national qualifying mark Friday night in the distance medley relay, then Thacker (mile), Rasheem Brown (60 meter hurdles) and Tons Ferguson (triple jump) secured individual national qualifying marks Saturday, as the Milligan College track & field team kept the success rolling this weekend at Roanoke College’s Finn Pincus Invitational.
After leading the Milligan College women’s cross country team to the NAIA Women’s Cross Country National Championship last fall, sophomore Bekah Owen has continued her success into track season and has been named Appalachian Athletic Conference runner of the week for the first time in her career. The announcement was made Monday afternoon by the league office for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 19.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) honored both the Milligan College men’s and women’s track and field teams along with 12 individuals for achieving academic success during the 2018-19 season.
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Monday that 12 Milligan teams earned the distinction for Scholar-Teams for the 2018-19 academic year. These 12 teams were among 1,939 total teams across the NAIA recognized with this award.
