Milligan University freshman Jaycie Jenkins has been named the 2021 Appalachian Athletic Conference freshman of the year after posting 17.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game this season.

The Milligan University women’s basketball team made several pushes in the final quarter but ultimately came up short for the second straight time, losing 70-67 at Truett McConnell Tuesday evening in an Appalachian Athletic Conference road game. Freshman Jaycie Jenkins’ 20 points and 10 rebounds led the Buffaloes, who completed a six-game road swing in the loss.
