Jastrab breaks record, wins individual pursuit national title
After representing the Milligan College women’s team pursuit in Thursday’s national championship title, freshman Megan Jastrab picked up her second national title Friday. Jastrab won the individual pursuit on day two of the USA Cycling Collegiate Track National Championships, highlighting another successful day for the Buffaloes at the first national event of the season.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (Sept. 13, 2019) – After representing the Milligan College women's team pursuit in Thursday's national championship title, freshman Megan Jastrab picked up her second national title Friday. Jastrab won the individual pursuit on day two of the USA Cycling Collegiate Track National Championships, highlighting another successful day for the Buffaloes at the first national event of the season.
Jastrab posted a winning time of 3:46.96 to break the previous track record held by Olympian Jennifer Valente. It marked Milligan's fifth individual national championship title in its history. Manuela Escobar placed 10th, just seven seconds off the podium, Gracie Pendleton finished 19th, and Marie Tutterow landed 30th.
On the men's side, Isaac Bryant was the top finisher in 12th, Keith Mullaly took 20th, and Brian Sciba finished 37th.
Day three of the USA Cycling Collegiate Track National Championships is set for Saturday.
