2018 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE | CRAIG EMMERT
Craig Emmert graduated from Milligan in 2005 with a degree in history and psychology. As a student-athlete, Craig played basketball each of his four years. He was a standout on the team and still holds the Milligan career record for most made free throws—487—and the Milligan single-season record for most blocks—50 in 2002-03.
In addition to these records, Craig distinguished himself on the court in the following ways:
- Ranks 11th all-time in scoring with 1,688 career points
- Registered 141 career blocks which ranks second all-time
- Recorded career field goal percentage of 54%
- Posted five double-doubles in the 2004-05 season
- Led Milligan in points scored in 2004-05 season with 608 points
- Led Milligan in rebounding three of his four years on the team
- Led Milligan in total blocks all four years he was on the team
- Led Milligan in free throw percentage in 2003-04 season with a 82.3% average
Following his time at Milligan, Craig earned a master’s degree in education administration from Union College. He began his teaching career at Sullivan North High School, where he also served as the Boys JV Basketball coach. For the past ten years, he has served Elizabethton High School, where, in addition to teaching world history, world geography, and psychology, he coaches boys freshman basketball.
Craig has been married to his wife Jordan since 2011, and they have a four-year-old daughter, Reece. They attend First Christian Church in Johnson City where they help lead the Connections and Welcome teams.
