Anglin Fields
Milligan's Anglin Fields, which include baseball, softball and soccer fields along with a throws pit and M Training Loop for cross-country and track & field, lie along the banks of Buffalo Creek behind campus. These fields were named after Senator Tom Anglin of Oklahoma, an early graduate of Milligan.
Anglin Soccer Field
Anglin Soccer Field is located on the southwest end of the Milligan campus with a grassy knoll providing a natural observation area along one sideline. The soccer facility as a whole consists of a lighted playing field along with a full-sized, lighted practice/warm-up area behind the teams' benches. Additionally, the men's and women's teams share a fieldhouse that includes locker rooms and office space for staff. Current dimensions of the pitch are regulation 118' x 74', and the field has the capability to be expanded to the NAIA's maximum allowable size of 120' x 75'.
While serving Milligan soccer in its near 40-year existence, Anglin Field has been home to 12 regular-season championship teams, six tournament championship teams, and two teams that made an appearance at the national championships.
On an individual basis, both teams have produced a host of players who received special recognition in both the respective conference affiliation and on the national stage. United Soccer League Hall of Famer and All-American Mercy Akide ('99), a 2015 Milligan Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, scored a number of her single-season record 42 goals while competing on the Bermuda grass of Anglin Field.
Milligan soccer also utilizes Johnson City Indoor Soccer's facility (pictured below), an off-campus site that gives the Buffaloes full access for training and playing purposes. JC Indoor Soccer is located in Unicoi, Tennessee, six miles from campus.
